Aviation Medicals
We at Pandanus Medical Practice continue to enhance our medical services and we are happy to include Civil Aviation Medicals to clients who are seeking careers in the aviation industry. Specifically, we provide medical examinations for pilots and air-traffic controllers licensing, in-line with requirements set by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia. This service is administered by our designated aviation medical examiner, Dr Arun Nayak, who attained his Australian Certificate of Civil Aviation Medicine at Monash University.
Do you need medical examinations for your pilot or air-traffic controller licensing? If yes, we can help. Below are steps to guide you through the process.
Prerequisite to the examination
To start the Pilot/Air-Traffic Control (ATC) medical process, please go to casa.gov.au, navigate to Aviation Medicine (services.casa.gov.au/avmed/default.asp) and log in as a pilot/ATC using your Aviation Reference Number (ARN). You will need to complete the relevant electronic forms detailing your medical history and the type of medical certificates you require. The website should advise you of the tests that you are required, based on your age and the type of medical certificate you require.
Call us for an appointment
Once you have completed the forms online, please call us to book appointments with Dr Arun Nayak. Please advise the receptionist that you are booking appointments for aviation medical and the type of medicals you require (as advised by CASA). You may need two appointments, one short appointment for the blood test and one long appointment for the medical examinations. It is best to book the medical examination appointment 2-3 days after the blood test.
On medical examination day
On the day of your Pilot/ATC Medical examination, please bring all relevant health files, glasses and hearing aids that you wear. You may be required to have an audiometry test, eye examination, and ECG.
Fees
At Pandanus Medical Practice, the fees (inclusive of GST) for the Pilot/ATC medicals are as follows:
Class 1 certificate $396
Class 2 certificate $209
